VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland hosts a cutting-edge, multi-site test centre dedicated to advancing secure connectivity, space technologies and quantum innovations, together with Aalto University.
Our facilities span from Espoo in the Helsinki capital area to Oulu and Sodankylä, reaching north of the Arctic Circle. This diversity enables robust testing in a wide range of environments - from secure laboratories to challenging Arctic conditions.

As a key member of NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA), VTT provides state-of-the-art platforms for testing dual-use solutions that serve both civilian and defence applications.
Our focus areas
Secure connectivity
Test and validate next-generation communication technologies through our 5G/6G and high-performance dual-use test infrastructure. Capabilities include 3GPP radio access networks, O-RAN systems, tactical network environments and advanced cybersecurity testing.
Space technology
Explore non-terrestrial communication testbeds, satellite simulation tools and remote sensing platforms. Our environments enable research and validation for future satellite constellations and next-generation NTN (non-terrestrial networks) connectivity.
Quantum technologies
Harness VTT’s world-class quantum capabilities. We provide access to quantum computers, quantum key distribution (QKD) networks and post-quantum cryptography infrastructure — supporting both national and European research initiatives.
