The results of VTT's 2024 Customer impact survey (ASVA) showed that VTT is significantly increasing its customers' knowledge base and competence: 96% of the respondents reached this target (93% in 2023).
Other perceived benefits include improved R&D processes (73% of respondents, 68% in 2023) and increased competitiveness (55% of respondents, as in 2023).
The respondents to the survey included domestic and international customers of VTT's commercial and co-financed projects from all company sizes and VTT's business areas. The survey focused on projects that had ended between one year and a maximum of two years before the survey was carried out.
VTT's expertise plays a significant role in the utilisation of project results
The overall rating given to VTT has been very good in recent years and continued to rise slightly from the previous year (from 4.3 to 4.4 on a scale of 1–5). The ratings were good among both companies and public administration respondents, both in Finland and abroad.
82% of the respondents have already utilised the results of the project with VTT or plan to do so in the next few years, compared to 76% in 2023. If the results are not exploited, it is most often because the solution is forward-looking and requires further development.
VTT's role is important: 21% of the respondents estimated that the utilisation of the results would not have been possible without VTT's expertise (17% in 2023), and 66% estimated that VTT's participation accelerated the utilisation of the results (73% in 2023). Finnish customers particularly emphasised VTT's role in improving competence, product development and services, as well as in utilising VTT's resources and expertise.
VTT is most often chosen as a partner because of our knowhow and special expertise. Previous cooperation experience and VTT's infrastructure and equipment also influence the choice.
