The environmental performance of products and the sustainability communication in the companies is topical in the discussions at the moment. The actors in the whole value chain can influence on environmental impacts. The seminar provides essential and up to date information concerning environmental sustainability evaluation based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Furthermore, Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint concept are discussed.

Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a tool that can be used to evaluate the environmental impacts of products from raw material manufacturing until end use and recycling or disposal. LCA can be used in product development and in communicating about the product's environmental performance. Among the newest applications of LCA are Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint.

The seminar gives basic information about LCA and presents different ways to utilize the method. In addition, concept and principles of calculating Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint are presented. Furthermore, the seminar will provide new ideas and case examples of both customer projects and research.

The seminar is targeted for Research and Development people, but it will also give valuable information for sales and marketing purposes. The seminar aim is to give essential, up to date information about the basics of LCA and utilization of LCA effectively. Furthermore, it will give a point of view to today’s sustainability communication needs.

How to measure and reduce your company’s environmental impact in the supply chain? How transport of products and raw materials affect Carbon Footprint? Is your product carbon neutral? How to communicate sustainability issues with customers and consumers? What things shall be taken into account when the comparability of LCA is assessed?

The fee covers the lectures, materials, handouts, exercises and workshops as well as meals and refreshments during the training.

Cancellation policy:

If for some reason you are unable to attend, let us know no less than 14 days before the seminar begins. If a cancellation is made after that date, 50% of the seminar fee will be collected. If no notification of cancellation is received, the participation fee will be charged in full. The participation can be changed to another person in the company with no additional cost.
