VTT is among the most active European research institutes participating in the European Union research programmes and is Finland's largest single recipient of EU R&D funding. Collaborative European programmes such as Horizon Europe, Euratom, European Defence Fund and Digital Europe form the cornerstone of VTT’s international research initiatives.
In these competitive research and innovation projects, VTT develops solutions with other key players around the world and plays a crucial role in integrating other Finnish organizations into EU R&D programmes. Finnish companies are involved in over 2/3 of VTT-coordinated projects, and close to 50% of all partners in VTT EU projects are from the industry.
