News, Company news

VTT, Technical Research Centre of Finland, is taking part in the #ScienceForUkraine initiative by offering three trainee spots to Ukrainians. The paid trainee program starts in autumn 2022, and VTT will cover the cost of housing. The international #ScienceForUkraine initiative collects information on job opportunities offered to Ukrainian nationals by universities and research centers around the world. Several organizations in Finland are also taking part in the initiative.

VTT is committed to cherishing diversity, equality and inclusion in its work community and supporting human rights within its sphere of influence. By taking part in the #ScienceForUkraine initiative, VTT wants to support the Ukrainian scientific community during the war and develop cooperation with Ukrainian organizations.

"The academic world is very international, and VTT's work community also consists of more than 50 different nationalities. All our positions are open to international applicants. In the current situation, it is also important to allocate opportunities specifically to Ukrainians. It’s been great to notice how quickly and widely the #ScienceForUkraine initiative has made an impact in different parts of the world", says Sanna Downing, VTT’s Senior Specialist in Global Mobility.

The trainee program is open to Ukrainian students and includes two research traineeships and one economics traineeship. Fluent English skills are required in all positions.

The application for the internship program is open from 14 July to 7 August 2022, and the 6-month-long trainee period starts in the autumn of 2022. VTT will be offering practical support with residence permits as well as tax and bank matters for the trainees and will cover the cost of housing.
