VTT’s premises in Espoo are situated in Otaniemi and Kivenlahti. Otaniemi is located about 10 km from Helsinki centre and about 25 km from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. The best way to reach VTT in Otaniemi from Helsinki city centre is by metro, getting off at Aalto University station.

Transport connections from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport:

• Taxi to VTT Espoo Otaniemi (20 - 30 min)
• Public transport/by train: the Ring Rail Line (Kehärata) to Helsinki city centre. A train ticket for zones ABC costs approximately €4.50. From Helsinki city centre, take the metro to Otaniemi, getting off at Aalto University station. The journey takes about 11–12 minutes. You can use the same Ring Rail Line ticket on the metro as well — the ticket is valid for 80 minutes from the time of purchase. Parking in Otaniemi

Parking area is located close to the main entrance. There is a parking control in the area. To avoid a parking fine, visitors must register their car's licence plate number using the device at the reception.

There is a parking area in front of the building. Parking control is enforced, but parking is free when you collect a parking permit from the reception and place it in a visible spot in your car.

• VTT Centre for Nuclear Safety, Kivimiehentie 3 (on map)

There is a parking area close to the entrance, and you may park in both guest and VTT staff parking spaces. Parking control is enforced, but parking is free when you collect a parking permit from the reception and place it in a visible spot in your car.

How to get to VTT Bioruukki

The best way to get to VTT Bioruukki from Helsinki city centre is to take the metro with the destination Kivenlahti, and to get off at the end station Kivenlahti. Entrance to the building is from Kiviruukinkatu.

​VTT Oulu is situated about 600 km from Helsinki. Oulu airport is located in Oulunsalo, about 15 kilometres south-west of Oulu city center.
