S-transistors delivers the missing piece of hardware for large-scale and energy-efficient quantum computing and AI – superconducting transistors.
Problem
Orchestration of a practical, large-scale quantum computer requires extremely ultra-low-power and high-speed cryogenic control and readout electronics – a quantum motherboard – that does not exist yet.
Furthermore, to fully unlock the potential of quantum computing, quantum computers must be tightly integrated with classical supercomputers.
Yet, today’s classical supercomputers and AI data centers are built on legacy silicon-based graphical processing unit (GPU) technology. This technology is already facing fundamental limits in terms of tremendous power consumption and limited ability to further scale up classical computing systems without a significant negative impact on the environment.
Only if one can build the quantum motherboard and energy-efficient AI hardware based on the most mass-manufactured and impactful discovery of humankind – a transistor – while reducing the mainstream transistor energy consumption by orders of magnitude, can this problem be solved.
