The VTT Board has awarded President and CEO Kalle Härkki the title of professor, with the rights defined in the Act on VTT.
Härkki started as VTT’s new President and CEO on 13 August 2025, having previously served as CEO of Resand Oy. He holds a Doctor of Science (Tech) degree in materials science and has had a long career in the international technology industry, including leadership roles at Outotec Oyj and Outokumpu Oyj. In recent years, Härkki has also worked with several startups and served on their boards, supporting business development and growth.
“It is an honour to award this title of professor to our new President and CEO. On behalf of the Board, I warmly congratulate Kalle,” says Pekka Tiitinen, Chair of the Board of VTT.
“Thank you very much! I’m truly honoured by this title granted by the VTT Board,” says Härkki.
