VTT is a leading R&D partner, offering multidisciplinary support across the health and medical technology value chain – from idea, design and prototyping into market-ready solutions and data analytics.
This year, our focus at MEDICA will be "proof-of-scalability" demonstrators, manufactured at VTT's brand new Medical Device Pilot (MDP). At COMPAMED, we invite start-ups and medical device stakeholders to connect and hear how we can accelerate and de-risk medical device development and manufacturing, powered by the MedPhab and PhotonMed pilot lines.

- "Proof-of-scalability" of complex smart patch stacks using VTT’s unique Medical Device Pilot line services

MedPhab & PhotonMed stand in Hall 8a / H29-8 (COMPAMED)
MedPhab Association ecosystem has expanded with 35 new collaborators through EU-PhotonMed project. Partners from 10 European countries have joined forces to strengthen the Photonic Medical Device Pilot Line. Among various photonic demonstrators, VTT is presenting:
- Silicon photonics based Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) chip for medical sensors and imaging
- Wrist and upper arm PPG sensor for heart rate and blood oxygenation monitoring
- Micro- and optofluidics for near-patient point-of-care monitoring
