Tervetuloa Sense’21-seminaariin 5.–6.4.2022! Sense’21 kokoaa mittaus- ja anturialan toimijat kaksipäiväiseen seminaariin Vantaalle keskustelemaan anturointiratkaisuihin ja sovelluksiin liittyvistä innovaatioista ja tulevaisuuden visioista.
Sense’21-seminaari tarjoaa mahdollisuuden oppia ja oivaltaa, mutta se on myös loistava mahdollisuus kasvokkaiseen verkostoitumiseen etätapaamisten täyttämän vuoden jälkeen. Seminaariin on tulossa mielenkiintoinen joukko puhujia mm. seuraaviin aiheisiin liittyen:

- Teollisuuden optiset instrumentit
- Ilmanlaadun mittaaminen
- Edistykselliset mikroelektroniset anturit

Start-up-tilaisuudessa esitellään uusimmat anturiteknologian spin-off- ja start-up-yritykset, ja tarjolla on kasvumatkaa menestykseen käsittelevä paneelikeskustelu start-up-yrittäjien ja sijoittajien välillä.
Verkostoituminen jatkuu aiemmilta vuosilta tuttuun tapaan rennossa ilmapiirissä iltajuhlassa seminaarin tiloissa.

Dr. Tuomas Hieta (M) received his D.Sc. (Tech) degree in the field of applied laser spectroscopy and electrical engineering at the Helsinki University of Technology (Finland) in 2011. He has worked as a researcher and a senior research scientist at MIKES Metrology and at VTT in the field of industrial and environmental laser sensing applications. During his period at MIKES and VTT his has coordinated a large FP7 project (MetAMC) focusing on sub-ppb generation and measurement of reactive airborne contaminants. In addition, he has co-founded a hightech startup Optoseven Oy. Significant part of his work has included direct collaboration with industry and R&D organizations, which has led to a broad network of contacts in both of the aforementioned fields.
Dr Erkka Saukko studied practical and theoretical aerosol science at the Aerosol Physics Laboratory at Tampere University of Technology, Finland. He has been involved in research and development of aerosol science and technology in engine emissions, atmospheric study, and instrument development since 2005. Dr Saukko has been working as a Senior R&D engineer at Pegasor since 2015.
Jaakko Yli-Ojanperä is working as a Technology manager in Air quality at Vaisala and he is responsible of particulate matter measurement technologies and of their development. He has a PhD degree in physics and an M.Sc. degree in Electrical engineering. He has fifteen years of experience in experimental aerosol science and in measurement instrument development jointly from academia and industry. He has also worked as a university lecturer in physics for four years. He has 20+ peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and has been awarded with a FAAR- Award (FAAR - Finnish Association for Aerosol Research) on his excellent work in experimental aerosol science. He has instructed one PhD thesis work and around ten M.Sc. thesis works and acted as a leader of the Instrumentation sub-group of the Aerosol physics laboratory of Tampere university.
Saku Kaukonen has a strong background in software/cloud technologies and applying machine vision technologies in the metallurgical industry. Sapotech is one of the pioneering companies of industrial digitalization and has a global reach via strategic partners like Vesuvius PLC (www.vesuvius.com) and Evertz Group (https://www.evertz-group.com/).
I am the leader of the R&D group at Senop, in which we design new optoelectronic products and technologies. I have been involved in the whole life cycle of optoelectronic products, from the specification requirements, to the development stage and all the way to the manufacturing phase. I have been responsible in numerous projects, which include thermal cameras, hyperspectral cameras, night vision goggles, different sensor technologies, etc.
I also have several years of experience of semiconductor lasers and related applications, from the designing of the structures to the characterization of the final device. In addition, I have been involved in project management and publishing activities within several international research projects.
Dr. Janne Paaso works as a Principal Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Mr. Paaso did his MSc in theoretical physics and his PhD in optoelectronics and measurement technology, both in the University of Oulu, Finland. He joined VTT in 1999, and has also worked at Rutgers University, NJ, USA. His research interests include measurement physics, measurement data analysis and system design of instruments using optical spectroscopy, X-ray imaging and machine vision for various application fields, including mining, paper and pharmaceutical industry. He has coordinated several national projects, multitude of contact research projects, and has worked as a coordinator or work package leader in several EU projects. He has published 16 peer reviewed papers, is the inventor of two international patents and is a frequent speaker in international conferences and seminars.

Main technology areas of interest are X-ray diffraction and magnetic Barkhausen noise method.

With over 25 years of experience in designing and building systems at the intersection of software, hardware and humans, you could say he's a true native in all things tech. He has worked with cars, robots, telco systems and heavy machinery. Jussi represents the Finnish space industry in the national space committee, has participated in updating the national space strategy action plan, and acts as the chairman of board at a space tech startup RSL. His favourite place is still Earth though.
Tero Vauraste, Lt Cdr (Ret), MSc (Soc.), PhD student in military sciences, is a Senior Advisor and Regional Director Europe at ICEYE OY, a leading Finnish space technology company. He has worked as an entrepreneur and in numerous senior executive positions in the service and logistics sector in Finnish and international companies. In 2013-2014, the Arctic Economic Council was established under his leadership and he is also one of the founders of the Finnish Arctic Society. He also serves as a Global Fellow on the Polar Program at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., and as a member of the Northern Sea Route Public Council

He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland in 2001 and 2005, respectively. Prior to joining Magister Solutions he was working as Project Manager in University of Jyväskylä. In Magister Solutions he started as Principal Scientist, then worked 10 years as CEO and is currently working as Research Director. He has been involved in network level simulations, performance analysis and development of radio resource management algorithms for both mobile and satellite networks. In addition to leading and managing research and development work he has published over 50 articles in international journals and conferences and has been inventor of several patents in the area of wireless communications.
Roman Bednarik, PhD (https://www.linkedin.com/in/romanbednarik/), is a researcher in interactive technologies and founder of SeeTrue Technologies, a company creating robust specialized eye-tracking solutions.
Jorma Palmén graduated from University of Helsinki, Department of Geology and Mineralogy in 1997 with major in Geology and Mineralogy. He focused on mineralogy, mineral chemistry and economical geology. Palmén completed his Licentiate of Technology degree from Helsinki University of Technology, Materials Science, Laboratory of Engineering Geology and Geophysics in 1999. Mr. Palmén worked during M.Sc. Degree and Lic.Sc. Degree at University of Helsinki and Helsinki University of Technology as an assistant lecturer and a researcher.
He joined Fintact Oy in 2000 as geological expert on spent nuclear fuel disposal. In this position he was working as geologist and senior geologist onwards, 2000 – 2003 in Fintact Ltd. and 2003 onwards in JP-Fintact Ltd, 2006 Pöyry Environment Oy, and 2010 Pöyry Finland Oyj in the Geoscientific Consulting department. At Pöyry he participated in studies of screening rock material resources, the used nuclear fuel waste management, biosphere studies as well as rock construction and tunnel excavation projects.
In the autumn 2010 he started teaching engineering geology and applied mineralogy in Aalto University as a lecturer and 2014 as a project specialist in Ladimo-project funded by TEKES.
In January 2015 Mr. Palmén as a CTO and his cofounder and CEO Jouni Halme established a company LaDiMo Oy. The Company is a direct continuation for the Aalto University project for further developing the extremely accurate Real-Time 3D point cloud sensor developed in the project.
