Scope and topics
This conference continues the successful NMHT tradition (recently: Lyon 2014, Santorini 2016) to present the state-of-the-art and the modern trends of nanoscale and microscale heat/energy transfer. The focus is on phenomena at short length and time scales, where the laws of physics used in classical heat transfer are no longer valid.
Heat conduction and energy transport, driven by the mesoscopic transport of electrons and phonons and thermal radiation at sub-wavelength scale are the typical topics tackled in the conference as well as non-equilibrium and quantum effects. Themes of the conference will include also application of these concepts to nano-objects, thermal metrology and different devices like thermal detectors.
The program features focused tutorial and plenary sessions led by selected keynote speakers, complemented by substantial space for contributions covering the full range of topics.
