We provide a comprehensive research facility for light-duty vehicle emissions, energy use and fuel economy testing with cooling the test cell down to -30 °C. Our single-roller AC/DC dynamometer with maximum speed of 160 km/h and power absorption of 100 kW, can simulate vehicle inertias up to 2500 kg.
Measurements of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are also catered with fast, multi-channel instruments. A multi-standard rapid charger (36 kW) is available for fast battery recharging.
For exhaust emissions normal variable-dilution CVS and bag sampling is available, and on-line modal analysis is also possible.
Several non-regulated exhaust species can be detected e.g. with wet chemistry sampling and chromatographic analysis or on-line with an FTIR instrument.
Particulate mass measurements (PM), as well as number count (CPC), and size-classification by electric low-pressure impactor (ELPI).
We have even accreditation to perform testing for EU type-approval purposes.
