Reboot Finland D.Day to boost Finland’s competitive edge


Tekes, CGI, Nokia, Finpro, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd and the Technology Industries of Finland are building together a new operation model, D.Day, to catalyst innovations. The D.Day event series cover several Finland’s most significant export industries during 2017. Tekes and CGI announced the D.Day collaboration initiative at CGI’s Ratkaisu17 event which took place on 26th January in Finland.

The evolution of superfast 5G networks, AI, advanced analytics and both augmented and virtual reality is especially rapid. The D.Day collaboration initiative aims to make Finnish SMEs the pioneers in exploiting these new technologies through shortening product development cycles and accelerating market access. 

Working together for Finland’s future

”Putting all these technologies together will radically alter the qualities and usability of products and services,” said Pekka Sivonen, Tekes’ Director of Digitalization. The D.Day collaboration initiative enables SMEs in Finland’s most important export industries to exploit prototype phase technology before rivaling countries and access the best talent of different industries. Team Finland members Tekes and Finpro working together with CGI and Nokia, can offer Finnish SMEs extra boost to be global leaders of their industry”.

Global market channels for Finnish SMEs

The D.Day events are tailor-made for specific industries with partners presenting their knowhow and future visions. Participating companies can identify targets for development and cooperation and find partnership opportunities. Tekes can fund companies’ or consortiums’ product development projects. Nokia and CGI offer their expertise and access to their global distributing channels.
