President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska visited VTT in Otaniemi on Thursday 22 October as part of his visit in Finland.
At VTT Kiska also visited CEMEA project's workshop. The aim of the CEMEA project is to establish a Centre of Excellence for advanced materials application based on long-term strategic cooperation between VTT, University of Helsinki and Slovak Academy of Sciences. CEMEA's core includes applications of advanced materials for nanotechnologies, biomedicine, biotechnology and sustainable energy.
Presidentti Kiska was also present in signing of Memorandum of Understanding between VTT and Slovak Central European Institute of Technologyn (CEIT). The Memorandum was signed by Erkki KM Leppävuori and Juraj Hromada. The cooperation will be done particularly in the following research topics: robotics, industrial automation; digital technology, e.g. virtual and augmented reality and design of production and logistics systems.
