Espoo, Jyväskylä & Oulu
European Researchers’ Night is an open science event that makes science and the work of scientists familiar to audiences all over Europe. Over the course of the day and throughout the night, children, adolescents, adults, older people, students and entrepreneurs can get to know more about science through workshops, meetings with researchers, lectures and laboratory visits. The next European Researchers’ Night will be held in around 300 cities simultaneously across Europe on September 28th, 2018. VTTers will present their research in Espoo, Oulu and Jyväskylä.
Below is a list of events where VTT will be represented. The programme will be updated soon!

Different paths to innovation - how to create impact from science?
Science will save the world! Especially applied science. Climate change, air pollution, health hazards and suffering water systems: it´s easy to get overwhelmed by all the massive problems around. VTT and Startup Sauna want to bring solutions to the table on the European Researchers’ Night. Bold solutions.
Ten research teams give flash talks on plastic-eating bacteria, anti-aging materials, new tools to tackle antibiotic resistance, harvesting the nasty green blue algae, sending e-mail to microbes and turning pollution into baby oil. Thought research was boring? Think again. Solving a problem is not enough, though. A panel wraps up the evening and gets to the bottom of how to move science into reality.
